In the eraly days, renaming Servoy solution was as easy as is renaming any other file but with the release of the Eclipse version of Servoy, a lot of things changed including the process of renaming solutions. In this tip I am going to show you the work around, using which you can rename your Servoy Solutions (applicable to Servoy Version 4.0 Final or higher).
Method-1
You can rename a solution, by doing a “Clean Import” and specifying a new name at the Solution Import page of the Servoy Admin.
Method-2
You can also rename a solution from the Servoy Developer just by selecting the solution from the “All Solutions” node and right clicking and choosing “Rename solution” from the menu, if and only if :
The selected solution must not be the Activated Solution The selected solution must not be shared with the “Team”
PS: If the solution is currently activated or shared with the “Team”, then you can not able to see the “Rename solution” menu option.
If you want to rename a solution, which has already been shared with the “Team”, then follow the below steps (Take Backups if needed):
Activate the solution in the Servoy Developer. Select the Activated Solution node and do a right click. Select “Team” -> “Remove share” Navigate to the Solutions listing page in the Servoy Admin. Delete the solution, by clicking the delete button in the Servoy Admin. Activate other solution in the Servoy Developer. Select the solution from the “All Solutions” node. Right Click, now you are able to see the “Rename solution” option. Select the option. Specify a new name for the solution and click “OK”.
Activate the Solution and share with the “Team”.
