At times I have come across “Access to restricted URI denied” code: “1012 even when making a legitimate AJAX call but from a different directory/site level. I know this is a security feature to restrict cross domain AJAX call. But firefox throws this error when calling a file in the same domain also (but not always).
Let’s say I have a script at http://www.test.com/com_localticket/caller.js and this script is calling a php file http://www.test.com/com_localticket/hotelrates.php . Sometime user may type in test.com or http://www.test.com etc.
When you are calling www.test.com from test.com or test.com from www.test.com, firefox treats them as cross domain and throws Access to restricted URI denied” code: “1012
